Favourite Free Patterns December 2020

My typical December projects are Quick and cute patterns. All typically to be given as gifts at Christmas. And whilst I have made several projects like this to give to friends and family, I have been on a bit of a sock making frenzy.

After finding the Trusty Toe-Up Socks pattern by Tanis Fiber Arts, I have made 5 pairs in the past month. I will share this tease of the latest pair I have cast on, (as I do not want to spoil the surprise for some of my family members) which is being made with the ‘Don’t Stand so close to me’ sock set by our wonderful retailer Craft House Magic.

This is an incredibly simple pattern, which is ideal if, like me, you sometimes cannot be bothered with picking up stitches for a heel turn. Each pair has taken me about 8 hours to knit, which in part is thanks to my brilliantly pointed HiyaHiya Sharp Interchangeable needles.

One benefit to focusing on my crocheting abilities this year is the range of amigurumi gifts I can give this year. If you haven’t subscribed to our YouTube channel, you can find a playlist of Christmas creations here that you can try. Please comment and let me know if you do try any of these

I have also slightly modified a couple of patterns to be used as cat and dog toys.

This Gingerbread man by Repeat Crafter Me was a really fun and easy pattern that quickly crochets up. As well as her snowman applique. I did edit these patterns, however, by adding a pouch of catnip as I stuffed them before joining the pieces together.

I also did this to the Holly Jolly Christmas Ornament Gift holder by Left in knots. Rather than leaving an opening for a gift card, I single crocheted the two pieces together, with some stuffing and catnip inside of it.

You can watch me make the original pattern here.

I, unfortunately, haven’t had time to make all the projects I wanted to this month (Some of which are listed below). I would love to know if you have made any of them, or what you think of them. I hope you will see them in future videos and posts, as well as any other patterns you can suggest.
