Assembling

LEGS: After you’ve finished crocheting all the pieces, start sewing the legs onto the body. Start sewing the first leg onto the body directly over the edge that was created by the round that was crocheted only into the back loop. Sew on the second leg four to five stitches left or right from the first leg, again just over the edge.

ARMS: Sew the arms left and right onto the body, one stitch row under the ‘neck’. Do not sew the arms directly over the legs but slightly behind the legs.

EYES: Counting from the top centre of the head, attach the eyes after the seventh stitch row. Place the eyes four stitches apart from each other.

EARS: Press the ears together so that they are arched outward to one side. Sew the ears after the 2nd stitch row to the left and right from the centre of the head. Sew on the ears in an arc running backwards, so that the ears are sewn on with a small inward arching.

MUZZLE: Position the muzzle in the centre below the eyes before you sew it on.

NOSE: Embroider the nose with a black thread. Embroider the nose on the middle of the just sewn on muzzle. To do this, pull the thread horizontally several times from one stitch through the next, skipping one stitch between those stitches.

BAMBOO: Use a khaki-coloured thread to sew the bamboo shoot to the end of one of the arms (scientists are not sure yet if Pandas are left or right handed).

And there you have it! Enjoy your little panda, and make sure you send us your attempts!
