Chsi Stitches 2018 Hiyahiya Europe S Highlights

The HiyaHiya Europe Team headed to the NEC in Birmingham for CHSI Stitches on 18th February 2018, and we had an absolutely wonderful time! We put a lot of effort into our stand and made sure we had a beautiful range of sets on display.

Day one was extremely lively and we had the pleasure of meeting lots of our lovely retailers and the owners of some fantastic sounding yarn shops. We were also very excited to meet many extremely talented designers and bloggers, so look out for collaborations coming soon on our blog! At the end of the first day we were lucky enough to attend the British Craft Awards 2018, where one of our retailers, Jane Crowfoot of Janie Crow, won an award for Best Crochet Designer! We held our own competition at our stand for the chance to win a HiyaHiya Accessory Set, and we are delighted to announce the winner as Vicki Brown Designs.

The next two days weren’t quite as bustling as the first, but this gave us the opportunity to visit other stands and see some of the incredible products currently on offer in the craft industry. At the entrance was the New Product Showcase where our new Tote Project Bags and Panda Li Click It with a HiyaHiya Lanyard were on display among many other attractive new products from other businesses. Our stand was also opposite the stylish yarn brand Isager, and it was difficult to not be distracted by their beautiful range of fibres and colours!

CHSI also held interesting seminars in their presentation area, including intriguing facts about the craft industry such as the average age of crafters and how much money we spend on craft material every month (although we don’t like to think about that!).

A hugely popular product throughout the show was our Interchangeable Straight Needles, a truly innovative product which allows knitters to adjust the length of their knitting needles and is fully compatible with the entire HiyaHiya interchangeable range. You can read more about Interchangeable Straight Needles and how to make the most of them here. Visitors were also extremely fond of our cute and vibrant accessories including the Sheep Needle Gauge and colourful Animal Snips.

Overall it was a fantastic three days and we can’t wait to see what next year at CHSI Stitches brings!
